First Candle/ SIDS Alliance
First Candle is a national non-profit health organization uniting parents, caregivers and researchers nationwide with government, business and community service groups to advance infant health and survival. With help from a national network of partner organizations, they work to increase public participation and support in the fight against Stillbirth, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and other causes of Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID).
This MISS Foundation is an international volunteer-based organization offering a community of compassion and hope for grieving families. Online support is available.
National SUIDS/SIDS Resource Center
Resources on Sudden and Unexpected Infant Death (SUID) and Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) are available at the Maternal and Child Health Library at Georgetown University providing research to families, professionals, states and communities.
Share Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support, Inc.
A national, non-denominational organization that supports parents who have lost a baby at any stage of their pregnancy or in early infancy in their healing through support groups, organizations, books and publications and sources for memorial items. Publishers of a bi-monthly newsletter, "Sharing" which provides information on nationwide and international parent support groups. Health care professionals, clergy, funeral directors, researchers and authors use Share as a primary source of information and knowledge.
SickKids Hospital: Paediatric Advanced Care Team (PACT)
The Paediatric Advanced Care Team at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto is a team of health care professionals who work closely with community and hospital team partners facilitating comprehensive care planning for children throughout the continuum of the illness experience, including care within the home/community. Services available to families and health care teams are planned to include: inpatient, community and family consultation, collaborative community care, intensive symptom management, psychosocial and spiritual support, bereavement counselling and knowledge of financial support.
