20th Biennial International Perinatal Bereavement Conference

Josiah's Journey and the Children's Health Foundation in London, Ontario, are proud to announce that we will be awarding 4 conference scholarships to professional care providers and researchers exhibiting financial need who would like to attend the 20th Biennial International Perinatal Bereavement Conference in Phoenix, Arizona, September 28 – October 1, 2016.
These scholarships are intended to provide financial assistance to those who would otherwise be unable to pay for the conference registration fee. The goals of the conference are to a) support members in networking; b) improve the overall state of perinatal bereavement care through evidence-based knowledge translation; and c) enhance connections among professional care providers and researchers.
There are a total of 4 scholarships available for the following 2 groups:
Professional Care Providers
The scholarships are accessible to any PLIDA member who is currently an employee of the Children’s Hospital, London Health Sciences Centre, who is interested in attending the conference, able to provide rationale for attending, and able to describe personal or professional financial constraints of attending this conference (see application below). The scholarships cover the cost of the preconference and main conference registrations, welcome reception, travel and hotel accommodations to a maximum of $2,000 CDN. Scholarship recipients remain responsible for any additional costs outside of these expenses.
Those eligible to apply and receive a scholarship include:
1) Current PLIDA members who are employees of the Children’s Hospital, London Health Sciences Centre, serving in the field of perinatal bereavement who wish to attend the conference. If you are not yet a member of PLIDA, click here to join http://www.plida.org/membership-options-page.
2) Employees of the Children’s Hospital, London Health Sciences Centre, who exhibit interest in attending the conference and can describe financial constraints associated with the cost of the conference. If you have already registered for the conference and are awarded a scholarship, the cost of your registration will be reimbursed.
3) Members who have completed the Scholarship Application in its entirety and have submitted it to email@example.com by the application deadline of August 31, 2016.
About Josiah's Journey
Josiah Morash lived just one day, yet his legacy continues to leave a lasting impression. Josiah’s Journey was founded by Josiah's family in memory of baby Josiah Morash who died on July 28th, 2009 from complications due to a rare genetic disorder known as Trisomy 13 or Patau's syndrome.
Josiah's Journey is a charitable organization that supports the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Children's Hospital in London, Ontario and the Paediatric Advanced Care Team (PACT) at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), Toronto.
Josiah's Journey has raised more than $180,000 to date, through the Children's Health Foundation and SickKids Foundation, supporting the acquisition of critical care medical equipment, research, and education in neonatal and paediatric intensive care. Josiah's legacy lives on through the provision of care and compassion to thousands of families as they make sense of the unknown.
